La Tempesta
Spring Summer 2025 collection
Schools of shiny mackerel swimming among the waves of a tumultuous sea.
Foam crashing on the beach.
The dim, almost pearly winter light that shimmers among the waves of a
stormy sea.
One day at the end of February, a walk on the seaside of Nervi, the dim,
pearly-grey light shimmers on the waves of a sea in shades of green and blue
in storm.
The wind and rain caress our faces, our eyes get lost in the colors of the
sea, in the chaos that governs it, small mackerel swim in the waves, two old
women weave cotton macramè on the porch of a small house overlooking the
sea.
We lose ourselves, with our gaze and our heads in an interior world to
discover our inner turmoil, the joys and pains that live within us, in noisy
silence mirroring the turmoil of the sea.
We are sea, stormy sea, in the midst of the coas, we are Storm.
The mackerel, a small fish, is a physical manifestation of rebirth and wealth,
after the chaos and turmoil, after the storm, a new beginning.
The sea, the sand and their colours, dusty and delicate, take shape in a
collection of the natural tones of sand, green tones and the blue of the sea to
underline an internal turmoil made of everything and nothing, the end before
a new beginning.
The mackerel, symbol of a new beginning that starts from us, becomes the
story and rediscovery of all the forgotten beauty, inhabits and contaminates
the fabrics and garments through the macramé technique and the total
reuse of its waste, embroidered in patches, making each piece unique, full of
wonder and precious as our own life and rebirth.
The garments, conceived as a reinterpretation of an upside-down world,
devoid of clear boundaries and gender distinctions, minimizing and
amplifying everything that is real and refined, tell in every facet of this stormy
sea, ourselves, and our rebirth starting from us, as if each of them were a
unique and stormy internal microcosm.
The fits, oversized and relaxed, dress the body by eliminating gender
boundaries, playing with the codes of masculine and feminine, in a
reinterpretation of the world upside down, without borders.
Being reborn, starting again from ourselves.
A mix of Italian and Chinese influences take shape in the fabrics that give real
shape to the collection.
The silks dyed by hand with Gamnbier juice and mud from the Pearl River;
the Boucle handmade with raw cotton yarn in its natural yarns; cold-dyed
denim worked in raw patches with horizontal stripes; hot-printed fabrics with
a three-dimensional matelassé effect; hand-dyed cottons as if they were sea
foam crashing on the rocks; they reflect on the very DNA of MIAORAN and
its rediscovery, giving the collection a playful and refined point of view at the
same time.
the double layer cotton MACRAME, the reuse of the waste handembroidered
on the garments, the raw finishing patch and the perfect raw
finishing make every piece of this story precious and unique.
The dusty shades of sand and dirty white, contrasted with the tones of blue
and green, in all their marine tones.
The story of a wonderful internal storm, like a tumultuous winter sea that
leaves room for rebirth and summer serenity.
A new, everyday DNA and the vision of a refined and playful, almost ironic,
world turned upside down.
